Good Advice

First they came for the journalists... or something along those lines. And while I believe Donald Trump is a real threat to a free press, I'm not sure there will be enough people to share the outrage if or when that happens. And don't get me wrong - the news media shares some responsibility for our current mess as too many lines have been blurred - often by new organizations themselves.

Now is the time for journalists to become journalists again. The assumption that the First Amendment will hold is probably a safe bet. But the effect of intimidation will be harder to quantify. Everybody needs to scrutinize - not just professional journalists.

Another good piece of advice from a local newspaper in Washington state: Be angry, Just don't be ignorant.
